WESTERN SAHARA SETTLEMENT, POLITICAL EQUALITY FOR REMAINING TERRITORIES AMONG ISSUES ADDRESSED, AS FOURTH COMMITTEE’S DEBATE CONTINUES
The Fourth Committee (Special Political and Decolonization) continued its general debate this morning, with speakers addressing the Western Sahara settlement question, in particular, as well as general approaches to full political equality for the remaining Non-Self-Governing Territories.
PAPA LOUIS FALL (Senegal) said that the question of Western Sahara was very important to Senegal.  The territory had age-old ties to Morocco that had continued to be strengthened over centuries.  Senegal supported Morocco's position on that question independently, objectively and dispassionately.
Referring to the statements by Burkina Faso and Senegal, he said there was no point in drawing the Committee's attention to Security Council resolutions on Western Sahara, which did not in any way approve of the framework agreement.

Of course, its purposes were propagandist and as such the lifeboat episodes are complemented by an effort to provide a bigger picture of the war at sea, but it is in more obvious areas where Western Approaches achieves its sense of proportion.

Complementary and Alternative Approaches to Mental Health Treatment
For example, most Eastern approaches view disease or disorders (including mental conditions) as indication of blocked energy in the body, while Western medicine is more likely to want "scientific proof" that this energy even exists.
Complementary and alternative approaches often see life experience and an individual's coping mechanisms as the source of difficulties – that it is not what has happened to a person that is the problem, but how the person perceives and deals with what happened.
Nutritional Approaches to Mental Health* is written by an orthomolecular psychiatrist and discusses the uses of many different vitamins, minerals and supplements for specific mental health issues.

 Session 162
This panel is primarily concerned with two difficult and perplexing issues: (1) whether literary Sinology in the U.S. can be and ought to be undertaken without cross-cultural perspectives informed by contemporary theories; and (2) whether the critical study of Chinese literature can benefit from a judicious use of Western theories.
The members of this panel will be engaged in exploring possible ways of bridging the gap, theorizing Chinese literary thought in relation to Western literary theories, and doing practical criticism of literary works using both traditional scholarship and contemporary theories.
Moreover, a judicious use of Western theories would facilitate meaningful dialogues between Chinese and Western literatures, without which literary Sinology will remain a narrow and marginal field in the U.S. and carry little appeal to readers outside East Asian departments of Western universities.

Derrida and the Deconstruction of Paulinism
Such a perspective on Paul does not seem to be far removed  from the  appraisal of the Geist/spirit of Western logocentrism and German idealism and its philhellenism in particular, and its later unfolding in a variety of approaches.
Derrida’s challenge to Western rationalism, and his philosophizing at and beyond the boundaries of this discourse is not identical with, but rather demonstrates parallels to and confirms these most recent approaches in Pauline studies.
His depiction of  the limited character of Western logocentrism confirms and supports the notion  of a different kind of thinking which is described as scriptural reasoning.

 Feminist Ethics
In fact, Hoagland believes that playfulness is the essence of a lesbian approach to ethics — a welcome relief, to what she perceives as the deadly and deadening seriousness of traditional western approaches to ethics.
Proponents of feminine approaches to ethics like Carol Gilligan and Nel Noddings stress that traditional western moral theories, principles, practices, and policies are deficient to the degree that they lack, ignore, trivialize, or demean those traits of personality and virtues of character that are culturally associated with women.
To be sure, from the standpoint of traditional western ethics, a mother's refusal to subordinate the concrete life of her child to the abstract commands of duty or higher law indicates her underdevelopment as a moral agent.

 The Story of the G.W.R.
The effect of the grouping of the Great Western's mileage was to increase it by 560 geographical miles, and by 3,365 miles of single track, sidings included, as the system already covered very thoroughly the country between the London-Penzance line on the south and the London-Birmingham-Chester route in the north.
The Great Western, which did not want a break in their system at Gloucester, was also eager to buy up the two independent railways; but the Midland outbid them and the broad gauge suffered a severe reverse.
When the war was finished, the railways, the lines, the rolling-stock and plant which had been requisitioned by the Government were handed back to their owners, and a measure of compensation presented for the loss they had inevitably sustained.
