Frost, a 13-term veteran, took on the four-term Sessions in the 32nd congressional district in Dallas and its suburbs after a redistricting plan engineered by another Texan, House Republican Leader Tom DeLay, chopped up Frost's old district.
Among the five Democratic incumbents targeted in the redistricting plan, only Democrat Chet Edwards had a slight lead over Republican challenger Arlene Wohlgemuth in a district in central Texas.
Dallas (Reuters) - Four Democratic U.S. House members from Texas lost their races on Tuesday, including veteran Rep. Martin Frost, the main target of a White House-backed redistricting plan, TV networks projected.

(CNN) -- CNN is projecting Republican Pete Sessions to defeat Democratic Rep. Martin Frost for the House seat representing the 32nd Congressional District, northwest of Dallas.
Frost, a 13-term representative, and Sessions, seeking his fifth term, became adversaries courtesy of the redistricting plan drawn up by the Republican-dominated Texas Legislature.
During their campaigns, Sessions' supporters argued that Frost's voting record was better suited to his old, primarily Democratic district.
