Media Institute of Southern Africa : promoting media diversity . pluralism . self-sufficiency . independence
The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), Botswana Chapter wishes to correct the misrepresentation that was made in the April 7, 2006 alert in which it was alleged that Botswana’s Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, Pelonomi Venson announced that she would be presenting the controversial Mass Media Bill to Parliament soon.
Although this figure marks a decrease of 8,3 percent from the previous year, MISA tends to believe that perpetrators of violations are reviewing their tactics such that fewer ‘conventional' violations are being recorded.
The publication is launched on May 3 every year to mark World Press Freedom Day.
