BBC ON THIS DAY 26 1979: Israel and Egypt shake hands on peace deal
President Sadat died for his decision to shake hands with Israel, assassinated in 1981 by extremists in the Egyptian army opposed to the treaty.
Under the accords, Israel agreed to withdraw troops from the Sinai Peninsula in return for Egypt's recognition of the state of Israel.
But, in a comment bound to anger the Israelis, it added that a settlement could only happen if the Palestinian people were given a homeland.

 Versailles Treaty
That is why they insist that those individuals who are most clearly responsible for German aggression and for those acts of barbarism and inhumanity which have disgraced the German conduct of the war, must be handed over to a justice which has not been meted out to them at home.
From either it appears thoroughly bad, and it has failed and must continue to fail to reach any good result, such as all who fought in the war supposed we were to gain.
Many people in France and Britain were angry that there was no trial of the Kaiser or the other war leaders.

Geneva Symbolic Peace Treaty and Bible Numbers
Those that know prophecy know that this future peace treaty is "confirmed" for seven years according to Daniel 9:24-27, but is broken in the middle after 3½ years.
Now, perhaps, Putin (or his sudden successor?) will have the power to carry out the evil scheme to attack unsuspecting Israel.
The Russian leader Putin has been pushing the (Quartet) "Road Map to Peace" treaty against Israel's wishes, and the Lord has been reminding His saints of the upcoming prophesied Russian invasion of Israel prophesied in Ezekiel 38.

The treaty does not formally state which nations are sovereign over these areas, a fact that some supporters of Taiwan independence use to justify Taiwanese self-determination according to Article 77b of the Charter of the United Nations.

The treaty further put the Ryukyus (Okinawa) under U.S trusteeship, which served as an appendage of the United States until a 1971 act of self determination in which the Okinawans voted to become a prefecture of Japan.

USATODAY.com - North Korea suggests peace treaty to settle nuclear dispute
Labeled by President Bush as part of an "axis of evil" with Iran and Saddam Hussein's Iraq, the North Korean government says a peace treaty would be a deterrent to an attack by the United States.
Han, the top North Korean official in this country who deals with the United States, spoke by phone from New York in his first interview with an English-language newspaper in nearly two years.
WASHINGTON — North Korea said Wednesday that the best way to resolve its nuclear standoff with the United States would be to replace a 51-year-old armistice with a peace treaty ending the Korean War, to be signed by North Korea, South Korea and the United States.

But on the following day, January 23, as a result of a successful coup d'état, Kiamil Pasha was driven from power and Nazim Pasha murdered by Enver Bey, who placed himself at the head of a new government.
Even before the declaration of war Serbia had suggested a rectification of her frontier as outlined in the Serbo-Bulgar treaty of March, 1912.
The armistice for the cessation of the First Balkan War was signed on December 3, 1912, and the London Peace Conference, composed of delegates from the Balkan allies, including Greece, who had not signed the armistice, and Turkey, held its first meeting on December 16, 1912.

First World War.com - Primary Documents - Treaty of Versailles, 28 June 1919
Controversial even today, it is often argued that the punitive terms of the treaty supported the rise of the Nazis and the Third Reich in 1930s Germany, which in turn led to the outbreak of World War II.
The German government was given three weeks to accept the terms of the treaty (which it had not seen prior to delivery).

Peace treaty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The latter treaty is possibly the most notorious of peace treaties in that it is "blamed" by some historians for the rise of National Socialism in Germany and the eventual outbreak of the Second World War.
The Korean War is an example of a war which was suspended with a cease-fire but never closed with a treaty.
The Treaty was concluded between Ramses II and Hattusili III, and in its eighteen articles it first calls for peace and then says that their respective gods also demand peace.

 The Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty also required Germany to put many of her “war heroes” up for trial.
Had the treaty been harsher, Germany would not have had the power to make war.
It is on the Treaty of Versailles that most historians place the blame for Hitler’s ascent and for World War II.

The Macedonian  National Question and the Versailles Peace Treaty
The Macedonian emigrants, who were the only legitimate representatives of the Macedonian nation in the Balkans, Europe and America, were not inactive during the Versailles Peace Conference, and they themselves put the Macedonian question as a Macedonian national question.
It was believed that it, too, would be raised at the Peace Conference, and that after so many bloody conflicts in the Balkans on this question, it would be solved appropriately, in favour of the Macedonian nation.
During the war, and particularly at its end, the Macedonian national question became very pressing.

 Wortzel Paper
This was the first time that the United Nations established a military force to intervene in an international conflict.
A bilateral peace treaty between the United States and North Korea, moreover, would give an enormous diplomatic victory to a North Korean regime that has refused to end the war against the South.
The war in Korea lasted for only three years, but it claimed the lives of a million people before an armistice was negotiated in 1953, effectively ending the fighting.

The terms of this treaty were worked out in December, 1970, in discussions among representatives of the U.S. National Student Association meeting with leaders of the National Student Unions in Saigon and Hanoi.
Upon these points of agreement, we pledge to end the war and resolve all other questions in the spirit of self-determination and mutual respect for the independence and political freedom of the people of Vietnam and the United States.
I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of their way and let them have it.

 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
On February 2, 1848 the Treaty was signed in Guadalupe Hidalgo, a city north of the capital where the Mexican government had fled as U.S. troops advanced.
Following the Senate's ratification of the treaty, U.S. troops left Mexico City.
But it was General Winfield Scott and his army that delivered the decisive blows as they marched from Veracruz to Puebla and finally captured Mexico City itself in August 1847.

Six-Party Format Could Be Used for Korea Peace Treaty
The United States might consider a peace treaty with North Korea, but only after resolution of the nuclear issue through the Six-Party Talks, the State Department said May 3 in response to a question taken at its regular briefing the same day.
In that regard, he suggested that, after resolution of the nuclear issue, the six parties might be able to work together to seek to replace the armistice agreement on the Korean Peninsula with a permanent peace mechanism.
Question: Did Assistant Secretary Kelly offer a peace treaty to the North Koreans if they abandoned their nuclear program at the last round of Six Party Talks?
