 Naushon Island Circumnavigation
We considered lunching on Pasque Island just so we could say we made it, but there were several structures at the good landing sites, and Naushon Island offers more privacy (and less chance of being kicked off).
North is occluded by the rise of the island.
This gives rise to some incredibly fierce currents through the openings between the Elizabeth Islands.

Jim Geraghty on John Kerry & Naushon Island on National Review Online
Today, a mounted groundskeeper patrols the shores, and politely asks trespassers to leave — though some trespassers are allowed to finish their walk and urged to get permission before landing again.
Periodically, Kerry talks about his ties to the island, his memories of family gatherings during his childhood, more recent experiences windsurfing off its coasts, or asserting his brotherhood with sportsmen by recalling adventures with his cousins shooting deer there.
Only caretakers and sheepherders live on the island year-round.

White Shark in Woods Hole in September 2004 - White Shark Trust
FALMOUTH - State wildlife officials said for the first time yesterday that the great white shark trapped near Naushon Island would menace humans if it did not return to open sea.
It has since been circling West Gutter, a saltwater pond between two of the Elizabeth Islands and has menaced no one.
McKiernan said he did not know of anyone who had been arrested for encroaching on the area, which is in the Elizabeth Islands off Woods Hole.
