Military history of the United States: Information From Answers.com
Other countries normally allied with the United States in the Cold War, including the United Kingdom and Canada, refused to participate in the coalition, although a few of their citizens volunteered to join the US forces.
The lead up to the war began with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990 which was met with immediate economic sanctions by the United Nations against Iraq.
In the United States, the conflict was termed a police action under the aegis of the United Nations rather than a war, largely in order to remove the necessity of a Congressional declaration of war.

I listened to Handels Coronation anthems for the arrival of king George the IV and Queen Caroline.
I was amazed by the grandure and style of his music.Handel uses the effect of suspensions and other rhythmic features, such as hemiolas to make his music more enjoyable.
If you love any of Handel's choral work you must listen to his Coronation Anthems and his work Dixcit Dominus(which is of a similar style).
