Topic: Karl Theodor Robert Luther

 Martin Luther (1483-1546)
During Luther's absence, and perhaps catastrophically, his senior colleague, Karlstadt, had taken action that was greatly to widen the scope and publicity of the controversy.
Some of them drew on Catholic teaching, others on the theology of Zwingli and of Luther, who had set an example of successful defiance of authority, had been no respecter of dignities, and whose teachings about Christian liberty and a priesthood in which all believers shared were plainer than his subtle distinctions between two kingdoms.
This convinced Bucer that he had misunderstood Luther, who did not mean a local, confined Presence; and from then on he intensified his awkward, well-intended attempts to make peace.

The Issue of Mind-Set, by Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr. (Jan. 23, 2000)
Nietzsche's hatred of reason and of the masses of humanity, is mirrored in her avowedly neo-Kantian hatred of reason in particular, and of truthfulness in general, a brimming, foul hatred upon which she based her formal claims to be a philosopher.
Such were phenomena which the head of the British Foreign Office, Jeremy Bentham, and Bentham's protégé Lord Palmerston, had unleashed upon continental Europe in the form of the Mazzinian insurgencies of Young Europe and Young America.
Adolf Hitler, like the self-professed Caesar Napoleon Bonaparte, whom Hitler instinctively admired, was but one variant of this, as were such philosophical cousins of the Nazis as Heidegger crony Arendt, and her other crony Theodor Adorno.

Thus prematurely terminated, at the age of twenty-two, the career of this young hero whose patriotic lyrics, like those of Moritz Arndt, seem to have entwined themselves round the very heart-strings of the German people.
The father of Karl Theodor Körner held a distinguished position as member of the privy-council of Saxony, and numbered Goethe and Schiller among his personal friends.
In his infantine days, Karl was a sickly delicate child, but as he advanced in years, he rapidly outgrew all these signs of weakness, and by the time he approached manhood, was noted for his adroitness in all manly exercises, more especially horsemanship and fencing, besides being renowned for his musical skill, and grace and.

However, the Bradley-Gates colloquy did not explore the historical roots of such exaggerations.

The Tinsel-Town Follies, by Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr. (Dec. 26, 1999)
The 1962 Cuba Missiles Crisis, the assassinations of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and then Robert Kennedy, combined with the deep impact of the war in Southeast Asia, brought the potential effects of the 1950s shift to the surface in such forms as the "rock-drug-sex counterculture" of the middle through late 1960s.
During 1964-1972, a deep cultural pessimism struck the generation of "baby boomers," producing in these U.S. layers a kind of existentialist counter-culture which had not been seen since the 1920s run-up to the Hitler regime.
Gradually, most notably during the late 1950s emergence of a phenomenon then often referred to as the mythos of "White Collar" and "The Organization Man," there was a marked shift in values among the emerging population of "suburbanites." The fuller implications of this shift would become apparent during the middle to late 1960s.

 The Private Intellectual
The true forefather of the Frankfurt School is not Karl Marx but St. Augustine, who wrote devastatingly about how the theatre shielded people from the reality of their hopeless situation.
Maybe movies, as fantasies, are meant to resolve things more easily than real life can.
But who can face that hopelessness as constantly as a St. Augustine?

It may be worth pointing out that, strictly speaking, many, many flags across America are being desecrated by neglect or other misuse.
There is little doubt in my mind that Congress will not throw your neighbors in the klink for hoisting a flag that looks like Karl Rove used it for a napkin.
So the standard will end up being one of intent.
