Talking Points Memo: by Joshua Micah Marshall: June 22, 2003 - June 28, 2003 Archives
Back a bit less than three weeks ago, on June 8th, Condi Rice said that none of the top level administration leaders knew the Niger documents were bogus at the time they put them in the president's speech.
As for the other question, the Homeland Security IG report states explicitly that they chose not to look into this question after state officials refused to answer their questions.
Let me know if you want to speak, he said in his email to local Republicans, "as I will need to get you a place in speaking order AHEAD of time." Here's an article on just how raucous the situation is getting.

Any attack carried out from this day forward will unmistakably be one against the Iraqi people.
On March 28, 2004, the Ministry of Health became the first of Iraq's 26 ministries to shift to Iraqi control, thus beginning the transition process that was completed last week, when the last of the ministries came under Iraqi authority.
In the days and weeks leading up to the transition, many in the United States criticized the June 30 transition date as too soon — while some, such as Sen. John Kerry, were critical of the decision to set a firm deadline for the transfer of power at all.

Archduke Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sofia were assassinated in Sarajevo by a Bosnian Serb on June 28, 1914 setting off a chain of events that would culminate in a world war by August.
Five years later, on June 28, 1919, Germany and the Allies signed the Treaty of Versailles, formally ending the war and providing for the creation of the League of Nations.
After the 1914 assassinations, an elaborate network of treaties among the nations of Europe led to a rapid escalation in the "Great War" between the Central Powers, including Germany, the Austro-Hungarian and the Ottoman Empires, and the Allied nations of Britain, France, Italy, and Russia.
