Inuit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is in part a result of the 1977 meeting of Inuit from Greenland, Canada and Alaska representing a circumpolar population of 150,000 who chose to use the name Inuit in forming the Inuit Circumpolar Conference.
By the late 1920s, there were no longer any Inuit who had not been contacted by traders, missionaries or government agents.
In recent years, circumpolar cultural and political groups like the Inuit Circumpolar Conference have come together to promote the Inuit and other northern people and to fight against ecological problems, such as global warming, which disproportionately affects the Inuit population.

But my white background allows me to share my culture to non-Inuit societies, like very English societies, French societies.

Apparently the plan is for the students to learn a great deal about the modern world, because before too long, they know all about the true history of their world.
One need not merely imagine these worlds: they have been written about in other stories, such as Mike Resnik's Kirinyaga anthology (about the African Kikuyu tribe), and Virginia Baker's "Rachel's Wedding" (about Hasidic and kibbutzim Jews).
The entire story is told from the perspective of the Inuit people, and they obviously have an enviably simple and pristine existence.

 Archaeology in the Arctic
The term "Inuit" is also used by some people to describe all these populations although it is only in the dialects of some of the groups who live in the Canadian Arctic that this word is used for self-designation.
The terms Inuit and Eskimo are the names applied to the Arctic-adapted populations who live in the region extending all the way from eastern Siberia to Greenland.
Biological, linguistic and archaeological evidence indicates that these people (and the Aleuts of the Aleutian Islands) are distinct from all the other aboriginal populations of the Americas and probably derive from a more recent population movement out of Asia.
