www.delawareonline.com : The News Journal : LOCAL : Inland Bays cleaner, but fragile
The report shows there is hope for the Little Assawoman, Indian River and Rehoboth bays, widely regarded as environmental and tourism treasures for eastern Sussex County.
But more work needs to be done, particularly to reduce the flow of treated sewage into the rivers and bays in Sussex County, according to the report compiled by the Center for the Inland Bays and released Thursday.
Thriving replanted sea grasses, fewer direct sources of pollution and a stepped-up government effort to stem pollution of Delaware's Inland Bays are signs the waterways are getting cleaner, a report concludes.
