On 10 October 1701, James Boughan of the County of Essex sold to Henry Boughan of Gloucester County.
Granted James and John Boughan, 20 Apr. 1684, deserted and now granted by order, andc." [Virginia Patent Book 7, page 279.]
On 7 November 1706, a case brought by James Boughan of the County of Essex against William Norcut of Richmond County was dismissed, James Boughan not prosecuting.

 Dillards of Culpeper County, Virginia and Related Families of South Carolina, by Dorothy Dillard Hughes
The Henry County, Virginia, marriage bonds record the marriage of William Hogans and Nancy Dillard on 19 January 1780 and indicate she was "daughter of James Dillard." Howard Jones said that he found James Dillard as a militia captain in Henry County during the Revolution.
Culpeper County was roughly triangular in shape, its northern point where the Rappa- hannock River, which forms its eastern boundary, joins the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the western boundary.
In 1694 he, or another George Dillard if he was no longer living, patented 139 acres in King and Queen County, created from New Kent in 1691 and located in the Middle Peninsula in the Virginia Tidewater.

WARM SPRINGS- A Virginia Historical Marker located in Bath County commemorates the Rev. William Henry Sheppard, who died in 1927, and was a native of Waynesboro.
In 1780 and 1781, British prisoners captured at the Battle of Saratoga and being held in Albemarle were marched through the gap to Winchester because of fears that the British were coming.
Augusta County historian Joseph Waddell described him thus: "His hair was usually combed back from his forehead, and ended in a queue, and till a short time before his death he wore breeches that buckled at the knee, and fair-top boots." Judge Stuart died in 1832 and is buried at Trinity in Staunton.

JOHN and HENRY are clearly identified in two deeds recorded in Louisa County, Virginia, both dated 8 April 1799.
The writer suspects that Mercer County was the intended destination when the whole family group left Virginia.
In this case, however, the writer is persuaded that the Princess Anne County origin for the family is not correct and that the trail of JOHN and HENRY of Mercer County clearly leads back to Louisa County.

 Tucker County, West Virginia Genealogical Records Information
The 1856 act creating the county specified that the county court was to be held on the lands of Enoch Minear on the east side of Cheat River, and that the land was to be called Saint George (the area had been known as Westernford) in honor of Henry Saint George Tucker, Jr.
Tragedy struck the county's early settlers in April 1781 when three of its leading citizens, John Minear, Daniel Cameron, and Jacob Cooper, were killed by Indians in present-day Barbour County as they returned to their homes from Clarksburg to obtain legal patents for their lands.

 Henry Draper Biography
Yet without the push given to celestial photography by Henry Draper and others of his day, modern astronomy, and the view it has provided of our place in the universe, would not be possible.
His wife later established the Henry Draper Memorial to support photographic research in astronomy.
The Memorial funded both the Henry Draper Catalog, a massive photographic stellar spectrum survey carried out by Annie Jump Canon and Edward Charles Pickering which is still in wide use today, and the Henry Draper Medal, which continues to be awarded for outstanding contributions to astrophysics.
