IV. NEW YORK MCCORDS IN THE REVOLUTION
Charles Clinton was the grandson of Henry Clinton, 4th Earl of Lincoln, England.
Charles Clinton, George Clinton's father, is the one whose family John McCord of Ireland reportedly came to America with in an emigrating party in 1728, thus the McCord association with this Clinton family dates back to that year.
Governor George Clinton was born in 1739 at Little Britain, Ulster (now Orange) County, New York, the son of Charles Clinton (1690-1773) who came to America in 1729 and commanded a regiment of New York provincial troops in the French and Indian War.

 Elect96.html
A major problem for Clinton continued to be his inability to shed the "liberal" image of the national Democratic party.
But as early as June 27 at least one prospective Clinton worker had gotten the word that while the national campaign wasn't writing Mississippi off, the state effort would have to raise its own money since the national party "isn't putting any money in."
By April 1996 Clinton's job rating had improved enough to make him competitive, but not enough to guarantee victory.

Ross Perot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bill Clinton and Al Gore after the Democratic National Convention, and claiming that Republican operatives were attempting to disrupt his daughter's wedding, Perot announced his withdrawal from the campaign late in the summer of 1992.
Perot tried to keep his movement alive in the middle 1990s.
Later in the 1990s, Perot's detractors accused him of resenting efforts to make the Reform Party into a genuine national political party rather than just a movement to support him.

U.S. presidential election, 1992 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On November 3, Bill Clinton won election as the 42nd president of the United States, despite receiving only 43 percent of the popular vote.
Clinton successfully hammered home the theme of change throughout the campaign, as well as in a round of three televised debates with President Bush and Ross Perot in October.
But the country's deep unease over the direction of the economy also sparked the emergence of a remarkable independent candidate -- wealthy Texas entrepreneur Ross Perot.

Richard Jemmons (Billy Bob Thornton), obviously based on Clinton's strategist James Carville, is a cynical realist who provides running commentary on the stages of the campaign.
Instead, ``Primary Colors'' centers its point of view in a character named Henry Burton (Adrian Lester), grandson of a civil rights leader, who doesn't join the campaign so much as get sucked into its wake.
And Daisy (Maura Tierney), quiet and observant, is a scheduler who eventually finds herself in Henry's bed, not so much out of choice as default.
