Muawiya II or Muawiya ibn Yazid (661 - 684) was an Umayyad caliph for about four months after the death of his father Yazid I. The empire he inherited was in a state of disarray with Abdullah bin Zubayr claiming to be the true caliph and holding the Hejaz as well...
Ottomans began increasingly to be considered the undisputed primary caliphate.
Abbasids, other Muslim rulers began to claim the title of caliph.

The existence and progress of a society depends on meeting its people's civic and political needs and guaranteeing them their rights and freedoms; it requires establishing institutions that enable them to participate in its functioning, and let their voices be heard and acted upon.
As a result, criticism and healthy dissent essential for the evolution of good governance is gagged, and violations of constitutional and human rights of the Muslim people are commonplace occurrences.
Unfortunately, a simplistic notion without its other pre-requisites still persists - that a righteous leader would come along and set the Muslim house in order.

WPJ Fall 2004 - Political Islam: Image and Reality by Mohammed Ayoob
The growing power of the Christian right in American politics, particularly the 40-million strong Evangelical movement, with its apocalyptic vision of “Rapture” and the “Second Coming,” is changing the political culture of the United States slowly but surely.
Zionism, as ideology and political project, can aptly be termed “political Judaism.” Zionists were responsible for settling European Jews in Palestine, establishing the Jewish state in Israel, and defining the political identity of Israeli Jews and many others around the world.
The attempt to compete with Islamists on their own terms by projecting the regime as equally committed to Islam, as the “believer president” Anwar Sadat did in Egypt, surrendered the rhetorical ground to Islamist elements who vigorously criticized the rulers for not living up to their own words.

It is widely believed that Ibrahim was really arrested because he did the one thing that the government never allows: He criticized President Hosni Mubarak by name.
There is little room for open criticism or reflection in the Arab world right now.
Certainly, American support for Ibrahim raised the suspicions of many Egyptians.

There are many examples that show Al-Tijani’s lies, deceptions, and frauds in his books:
Al-Tijani says in his book ‘Shia are Ahl Al-Sunnah,’ “As we have already indicated, those who call themselves "Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama`a" are the ones who believe in the legitimacy of the four "righteous caliphs," namely Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali.
As for the sahaba who were not Shi`as, as well as the caliphs, kings, and princes who ruled the Muslims from the time of Abu Bakr and till the reign of the Abbaside caliph Muhammad ibn al-Rasheed al-Mu`tasim, they never recognized the caliphate of Ali ibn Abu Talib at all.

 Four Righteously Guided Caliphs
The Four Righteously or Rightly Guided Caliphs or Khulifa Rashidoon in Arabic refers to the first four caliphs in the Sunni tradition of Islam who are seen as being model leaders.
They were all close companions of Muhammad, and their succession was not hereditary, something that would become a hallmark of later caliphates and is considered an abomination in Sunni Islamic theology.
