English 2126: Modern English Grammar: Grammar Resources on the Internet
I have attempted to find a large sampling of the previously mentioned web sites that deal with grammar, punctuation, and writing.
In fact, there are also resources for writing fiction (and getting published once you've written it) on the web.
This site appears to be an English class online.

Frequently Asked Questions about English, Series 1 and 2
These are some of the postings I have made, mostly to the newsgroup
I don't find it particularly disturbing that people ask questions about English grammar; after all, this is why people ask questions, and this is what I do (in part) for a living.
As a linguistics professor, with a special interest in English and a background including some time as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages, I frequently have to explain how things work to people who don't really know much about English grammar.

I am speaking about the root-stems which according to Germanic laws of Ablaut, change the root vowel during the declension.
This is how the Old English language was born.
Old English, as well as practically all Germanic tongues, is not conservative at all: it witnessed quite an extensive use of analytic forms in place of older inflections and lost many others.
