 Chronik der von Rönne
In Osnabruch (783), Minden (786), Verden (786) and Bremen (795) bishoprics were founded to establish Christianity.
State archive of bremen mentions Timme and Eler van deme Runne...the names are not mentioned in later decades.
Persuaded by his parish people, the ex-judge offered his services to the invading Danes, who were quickly driven out by the Swedes, who confiscated JOHANN's property.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Bremen
The Reformation won its first victory in the city of Bremen; the Catholic clergy who opposed the new teaching were expelled, monasteries suppressed, the cathedral chapter banished from the city in 1533, and allowed to return only under the condition that no Mass be said or choir service held.
During his episcopate the Obotrites were converted to Christianity, and three dioceses, Oldenburg, Mecklenburg, and Ratzeburg, were erected as suffragans of Bremen.
After the death of Christopher (1558), the cathedral chapter, which was almost entirely Protestant by this time, chose as his successor his brother George (1558-66), who was already Bishop of Verden and Minden; during his episcopate, the archdiocese, with the exception of the cathedral and some country parishes, accepted the teaching of Calvin.

 Swedish War on Bremen, 1666
No battle had been fought; the treaty stipulated that Bremen would pay taxes both to Sweden and the Emperor, would not claim the title of a free Imperial city until 1700, would not send delegates to Imperial diets until 1700.
Bremen had strong fortifications, a garrison of 1500 men and 6000 burghers who could be drawn into the militia.
A first Swedish War on Bremen had been fought over the issue in 1653-1654.

 Bremen-Verden - encyclopedia article about Bremen-Verden.
The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (official name, German: Freie Hansestadt Bremen) is one of Germany's 16 Bundesländer, the federal states of the country..
Bremen, which may have been an older settlement, became a bishopric; a deed claiming the town's foundation in 788 has now been recognised as a forgery, so the exact date is unknown.
In the following centuries the bishops of Bremen were the driving force behind the Christianisation of Scandinavia.

 Svenska krig / Swedish Wars
This caused a war in 1654, which was settled in the peace of Stade in 1654.
For the time being the force didn’t use any violence.

By the peace treaty, Swedish jurisdiction also extended to the city of Bremen, but the city's refusal to submit to Swedish control gave cause to two wars.
It came under Swedish control by the Peace of Westphalia, which concluded the Thirty Years' War, and consited of the
Recess of Stede, where the main issue was left unresolved, but the city agreed to pay tribute and levy taxes to the Swedish king.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Hanover
The first of these bishoprics was at Osnabrück, where a church had been in existence before the year 787; Wiho appears to have been the first bishop, in 803.
The Bishopric of Bremen, under St Willehad, was added to the number in the year 787.
Most of them had to fight against the encroachments of their temporal and spiritual neighbours, and the nobility in general, so that the entire period prior to the sixteenth century was taken up with endless, devasating feuds, both internal and external.
