In the county, the population is spread out with 33.50% under the age of 18, 9.40% from 18 to 24, 24.00% from 25 to 44, 19.20% from 45 to 64, and 13.90% who are 65 years of age or older.
By 2004 the population was estimated at 6,077.
of 2000, there are 6,005 people, 1,982 households, and 1,530 families residing in the county.

Beaver is the birthplace of two well-known, but very different, people: Philo T. Farnsworth and Butch Cassidy.
Beaver is well known in Utah, as Interstate 15 (the main artery for the entire state) flows through the city.
The peaks in these mountains rise to over 12,000 feet (3,660 m).

Delano Peak (12,173 feet) and Mount Belknap (12,139) are among the highest mountains in the state.
The U.S. Army built Fort Cameron in Beaver City in 1873, partly in response to Indian hostilities and partly to aid the 2nd District Court in the prosecution of those accused of participating in the Mountain Meadows Massacre.
Lee's two trials were held in Beaver, and he was briefly imprisoned at the fort.

Beaver County has received record snowfall this winter and as such the high country will be inaccessible until later this summer.  However, the western end of the county is more beautiful than ever.  Take a weekend and explore the old mining towns and pleasant desert solitude to be had there!
Additionally we plan to start classes in conjunction with Dr. John Allen of Utah State University on fostering entrepreneurism in our communities, this initiative will be patterned after the successful EDGE program pioneered in Nebraska and will start this summer.
