 Augustus (27 BC - 14 AD)
This conspiracy was uncovered in 2 B.C., Iullus, was executed and Julia was exiled on the charge of adultery with a number of members of the nobility.
Agrippa married Julia, by whom he had a number of children before his own death in 12 B.C. At the same time that Agrippa was marked out for succession, Augustus also promoted his two stepsons, Drusus and Tiberius, an "insurance policy" against the death of Agrippa.
Julia, who appears to have detested Tiberius, began to conspire with Augustus' nephew Iullus Antonius (the son of Antony and Octavia).

Emperor Augustus: 27 BC- AD 14
When Caesar was assassinated, Octavian raised an army to claim his inheritance and avenge his uncle's murder.
To legitimate his power, the Senate named him Imperium proconsulare maius infinitum in 23 BC, which gave him control over the provinces and the army.
At the battle of Actium in 31 BC, he defeated the last of his opponents, Mark Anthony, and took control of Rome.

 BBC - History - Augustus (63 BC - AD 14; Roman emperor 27 BC - AD 14)
Gaius Octavius, as Augustus was originally known, was 18 when in 43 BC his great-uncle, the dictator Julius Caesar, was assassinated.
His long reign brought Rome peace and stability after a century of intermittent civil war and disorder, and provided a model of successful government that it would be difficult or impossible for his successors to match.
Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide, and Octavian was left as sole ruler of the empire (to which Egypt was now added) - in the same position that Caesar had been in after winning the civil war against the republicans in 45.

Rome and Romania, Roman Emperors, Byzantine Emperors, etc.
This was the end of Roman Gaul, 541 years after Caesar had completed its conquest in 56 BC -- or perhaps 531 years since the defeat, capture, and death of the rebel Vercingetorix in 46 BC.
Syagrius fled to the Visigoths, who returned him for execution by Clovis.
It must not be forgotten, however, that the Temple had once before been destroyed, by Nebuchadnezzar, in 587 BC.

Bluffton University Athletics - anderson 27, bc 9
Bluffton sophomore tailback Jovan Johnson rushed for a career-high 195 yards on 41 carries, but was held without a touchdown in the game thanks in part to what the officials ruled as a fumble as Johnson crossed the goalline with 4:36 left in the game, which would have brought the score to within five points.
Anderson would add three more touchdowns in the second half compared to just one for BC, which was a one-yard run by sophomore fullback T.J. Phlipot early in the fourth quarter.
Anderson would go on to score twice more to put the game out of reach.

Letters, Vancouver Sun, November 27, 2002, BC Hydro, British Columbia, energy
The fact that the rates will be set by an independent B.C. Utilities Commission is a typical Gordon Campbell move to offload responsibility for his policy.
Regarding the diminishing of BC Hydro, your readers may find this quote from George Woodcock's book British Columbia, A History of the Province (Douglas and McIntyre, 1990) most interesting:
Fortunately for him, BCE had made itself unpopular by neglecting the rural areas and by charging higher rates than those customary elsewhere in Canada or the American northwestern states.

Sciortino FG Lifts Eagles Over Irish, 27-25 :: BC beats Notre Dame for third straight year
Notre Dame took over on the BC 23 with 12:50 left, and on the next play, Stovall outjumped a defender at the goal line to make it 24-19.
But the Irish were forced to settle for a field goal that made it 3-0.
On a fourth-and-7 with 4:30 left in the third, Grant Adams pulled in Porter's pass with his fingertips and took it 28 yards to the 3.

27 BC to AD 69, Ancient Roman coins - Calgary Coin Gallery
Coins from the Julio-Claudian period (27 BC to AD 68) and the civil war of AD 69.
For the next ninety-five years the Roman Empire would be ruled by men connected with his family, although power would never pass directly from father to son.
In 30 B.C., Octavian achieved absolute control of Rome and its territories, but the Roman Empire, along with the Julio-Claudian dynasty really began in 27 B.C. when the senate granted Octavian (the adopted son of Julius Caesar) the surname "AVGVSTVS".

This follows the Roman Imperial period from its inception with Augustus up to the death of Severus Alexander and the introduction of the soldier-emperors in AD 235.
Lucid and economical, it was later used as a kind of textbook for first-year students at law schools in the East, and served as the model for the emperor Justinian's Institutes, published in 533AD.
