I would have to say that those with less techno-know-how would find the 950 easier to setup and use then the 1066.
The 1066 seemed a bit more complex but since I am a electronics/computer junky it only took a little longer and a few posts from some good people here at the HTF to get things setup right.
However… if you can fork out another $450 (or there bout's) and do not care about FM radio then I personally would purchase the 1066 as “I” believe it is worth the extra money to have software upgradeability and some other nice feature it comes with.

In other words, would a separate coif have had a "bib" or ventail attached to it instead of to the hauberk?
Or did the separate coifs of 1066 have the integral triangular ventail that I though came much later?
I had though of "opening up" the face opening more, and attaching a bib to the lower rounded portion of the coif that drapes over the chest.
